About

For as long as we can remember, we’ve marked moments—the highs, the lows, the “just because”—with flowers.

Beautiful blooms, while ephemeral, have a way of connecting us to each other and to the world around us, capturing our hearts with their vibrancy and perfume.

Green Hydrangea brings together the freshest and most unusual variety of blooms in thoughtful and luxurious arrangements. We are dedicated to providing consistent excellence to our customers with a flair of elegance and a deeply personal touch.

Premium floral arrangements in Washington DC

Why Green Hydrangea?

Green hydrangea are both beautiful and functional; a bloom that provides structure and support to other flowers in an arrangement, but are also lush and charming on their own. When we share flowers with each other—or fill entire rooms with them—we want them to lift up those around us. Like the green hydrangea itself, we will always strive for the perfect balance of purpose and beauty.

Meet The Team

Green Hydrangea Founder Tess Finnegan

Tess Finnegan
Founder

Tess Finnegan created Green Hydrangea in November 2014, in her garage, with a single client. A former federal trial attorney who has spent extended time in Paris, Tess is continually inspired by the beautiful, hand-tied bouquets that epitomized the quintessential elegance of French floral design. Leaving a six figure job on the table, she pursued her passion full time. From creating arrangements at local DC florists to spearheading floral designs at weddings and events, Tess eventually brought the green hydrangea mechanic to life in her own floral studio. She now enjoys bringing happiness to others with her beautiful blooms.

For her entrepreneurial vision, creativity and achievements, Tess has been featured in Take the Leap by Sara Bliss and The Rise of the Naked Economy by Ryan Coonerty and Jeremy Neuner. She has appeared in Forbes magazine, “Dreaming of a Creative Career? How to Make It A Reality,” as well as the Scout Guide, Washington DC, Vol. 5 and 6. Tess has been a guest speaker on the podcast Life 2.0. and has been a contributor to Art in Bloom in Washington, DC.
